Hi, I’m Phill Miller, the new CEO of ETU. In my first few weeks, I’ve had the privilege of exploring what has made our company successful to date and meeting with many industry leaders, customers, and partners.
The one thing I’ve noticed is that the pace of change in corporate learning is accelerating.
Skills gaps are widening for large companies, and the pressure to measure training ROI is growing. More importantly, AI is opening new doors for personalization in the learning space.
It’s an exciting time to be in this industry, and I’m energized by the opportunities ahead — both for the market and for ETU. Here are a couple key takeaways I’ve noticed in my first weeks as CEO.
I spent the first few weeks visiting our Dublin office to meet members of our product team, connecting with other leaders at the ASU+GSV conference in San Diego, and flying back out to Ireland again for a second team visit.
For years, companies have invested heavily in training, but many are still struggling to answer one critical question: Did it work? This was a big trend at ASU+GSV this year, and I know it's top of mind for most organizations.
Traditional learning models have often focused on completion rates or employee satisfaction rather than verified skill growth and real-world behavioral change. That's why we're seeing a clear shift toward skills-based learning, measuring the skills employees gain and how effectively they apply them on the job.
This is where immersive learning, powered by simulation-based training, is making a measurable difference. Companies like Capgemini and Merck have already shown that adaptive, skills-focused learning experiences drive higher engagement, better decision-making, and faster time-to-competency.
AI is poised to accelerate this transformation even further. The ability to adapt learning experiences in real time based on how a learner performs creates a level of personalization that static training simply can't match. AI can assess skill gaps, recommend targeted learning experiences, and provide real-time feedback to reinforce the right behaviors… all at scale.
This will allow companies to grow their training programs faster than ever before, and actually measure the impact of those programs along the way.
At ETU, we’re embracing this shift head-on. Later this year, we’re launching ETUCreate, a powerful new component of our simulation platform that will give our customers more control and flexibility in building immersive workplace simulations.
ETUCreate will allow L&D teams to design and deploy AI-powered simulations tailored to their business needs, helping employees develop critical skills faster and more effectively.
This is an exciting time for corporate learning. Skills-based learning and AI are no longer a thought for the future. They’re the key to building an agile, resilient workforce today. At ETU, we’re proud to be at the forefront of this transformation.
